Job Advert: Maintenance Electrician

Overview: Our client, a leading confectionery company based in Greater Dublin, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician. This role involves delivering high-quality engineering services to production, ensuring maintenance works efficiently, effectively, and safely in line with the maintenance strategy.

Duties:

• Perform PM routines and regular maintenance.
• Execute the preventive maintenance and condition-based program.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
• Perform electro-mechanical repairs on high-speed, PLC-controlled plant, handling, and packaging equipment, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
• Troubleshoot using PLC programs.
• Monitor line and machine performance closely, intervening as soon as any deterioration occurs.
• Provide technical support for plant facilities and services, including compressed air, refrigeration, and steam.
• Work with equipment suppliers on new equipment installations and modifications.
• Provide engineering support, enter data, update equipment records, produce performance reports, and participate in continuous improvement follow-up.
• Update the maintenance management system (CMMS), recording all changes, store transactions, and work carried out.
• Complete planned work, daily shift input of all works onto CMMS, parts booked out of stores, and control of breakdowns.
• Deliver high-quality engineering services to production, ensuring efficient, effective, and safe maintenance.

Criteria:

• Suitable trade qualification.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Good reporting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to lead on engineering issues and work independently or as part of a team.
• Flexibility in respect of shift changes and participation in the maintenance procedure as required.
• Electrical engineering experience and/or qualifications.
• Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality, Health, and Safety.
• Familiarity with planned preventative maintenance.
• Experience in fault finding and problem solving.
• Comprehensive knowledge of high-speed mechanical systems, electrical systems, automation, and PLC control systems.
